When it comes to just how bad those vapors are, research shows it totally depends on the device you’re using. Previous studies have confirmed that all e-cigs have carcinogens like formaldehyde, but according to the latest research published this summer in the journal of Environmental Science and Technology, factors like how old your device is and how you’re using it can affect how many of those cancer-causing chemicals you’re actually breathing in.
In this study, scientists found that the older the device, the more toxic the emissions are.
